In light of the increasing incidents of murders and attacks on traders in Bihar, Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has raised serious questions about the Nitish Kumar administration, intensifying unease within the ruling NDA coalition. Paswan's remarks come amidst a surge in criminal activities in Patna, including the recent murder of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka, followed by the killings of grocery trader Vikram Jha and sand trader Ramakant Yadav, creating a climate of fear among the business community. Opposition leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav and Congress representatives, have been consistently attacking the Nitish government over the deteriorating law and order situation. Meanwhile, Paswan's comments indicate growing discontent within the ruling coalition.

Prior to Paswan's statements, LJP (RV) MP Rajesh Verma publicly declared that law and order in Bihar has collapsed under the current administration. This prompted a sharp rebuttal from JDU leader and Bihar minister Maheshwar Hazari, who challenged Paswan to clarify whether he intends to remain in the coalition. Notably, Paswan's brother-in-law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti also criticized the rising crime in Bihar, stating that one cannot ignore the ground realities and act as if they are blind to the situation.
